It was a far cry from the Rominger who had slid so ungracefully down the banking on his first moments on the piste, unable to keep himself upright through sheer lack of momentum.
Hit the world renowned ski runs at Australia's best-known resorts on a Thredbo or Perisher Blue Weekend Snow Trip, where there's an array of beginner runs, near-vertical black runs and challenging off-piste routes to keep all levels amused.
The 58km of pistes have plenty to keep intermediates happy and some advanced off-piste tree runs too.
But it remains small, happily so, knowing that within its 100km of pistes there is enough to keep people entertained – especially families.
The pistes are varied and interesting enough to keep an average skier happy for a week or so, and the off-piste skiing is amazing and very challenging.
Being below 2,000 metres, Jasna relies on artificial snow to keep all the pistes open, and during my visit, scant January falls meant no real off-piste.
There's a subsidised bar and plenty to keep you occupied off piste: outdoor table tennis, table football, board games, a pool table, and a sauna.
Although expert skiers would struggle to keep busy for more than a couple of days on its modest 100km of pistes, the runs are very beautiful.
The camera is good enough for capturing the odd video; use it underwater on a well-lit reef or bolt it to the front of your snowboard for some off-piste fun, but the lasting impression I'm left with is that I just wish I had a waterproof housing to keep my iPhone safe instead.
