The company today is launching its own take on personalization with playlists built to fit users' moods, activities, and genres, which are all powered by Pandora's Music Genome.

In turn, Medikly has built a personalization engine on top of its preference discovery tools, which leverages those preference and behavioral insights to allow marketers to send more targeted and relevant information to physicians in the way that physicians actually want to receive that content.
Under the hood, the technology was created by Indraneel Mukherjee, the startup's founder and CEO, who holds a PhD in machine learning from Princeton and worked at Google, where his "small team" built a personalization engine that added billions of dollars to Google's bottom line, according to Spector.
Google points out that it's curating Android Wear watch faces differently, and also offers a smattering of links for third-party watch bands, but we believe it needs to do more with its own storefront to play up the personalization options for wearables built on its own software.
On the personalization side, the team built an algorithm based on collaborative filtering (i.e. listening and learning from the amount of people who actually listened to a piece of content) to continuously learn about the consumer's preferences and tastes and, theoretically, become smarter over time.
Hopefully the content immediacy improves, and the Paper team builds personalization into the Sections like it said it's considering.
