Other than the large LPR response in roots, the distribution of gene numbers between root and shoot classes were similar, with the number of latently responsive genes (92 genes) approximately equal to those of the initial and persistent responses combined (90 genes).
We analysed a novel component of the pupil response that displays the hallmark properties of melanopsin-driven photoresponses (spectral, sustained and persistent responses) that in animal models are eliminated following genetic invalidation of the Opn4 photopigment [12], [17], [21], [22].
In contrast to the early PLR, the spectral response profiles for the steady-state equilibrium PLR and for the post-stimulus persistent responses are indistinguishable from each other and show maximal sensitivity in the blue region of the spectrum (approximately 460 480 nm; figure 2B, figure S1).
Three objective responses, i.e. one partial and two complete persistent responses, were seen in 22 evaluable patients.
To determine if persistent responses were present after re-stimulation, we cultured PBMCs in the presence of specific peptide.
