The study calls for action to address "large and persistent differentials which, in general, work to the disadvantage of black patients".
However, as with questions about age biases, the socioeconomic determinants of cancer treatment and survival in the UK continues to be a topic of public concern and scientific interest; with recent evidence suggesting that the persistent differentials seen for many common cancers may, in fact, be widening [20].
