The extent of perpendicular orientation for the lamellar microdomains on a neutral substrate was assessed at various film thicknesses around a lamella period (1Lo) by varying the molecular weight of PS-b-PMMAs.
This alignment leads to different values for the respective diffusive coefficients in the magnetic field direction and in the perpendicular direction, to the extent that heat diffusion coefficients can be up to 1012 times larger in the parallel direction than in the perpendicular direction.
Consistent with our previous results using non-confluent BAECs [7], there was no alignment at 0.01Hz (Fig. 1A) and the extent of alignment perpendicular to the direction of matrix stretch increased as frequency increased to 0.1 and 1 Hz (Figs. 1 B and C). Figure 1D illustrates that there was a significant decrease in the order parameter for each frequency (p<0.05, alignment at 1Hz>0.1Hz>0.01Hz).
While the model provides reliable estimates of basal melting for one-dimensional configurations38, the plume dynamics were augmented to account for a varying width (lateral extent) of the plume perpendicular to the flow direction, which is important to provide area average melt rates for an uneven distribution of ice shelf area at different depths39.
The next day, a tip was positioned with a ruler to ensure, to every possible extent, that it was placed perpendicular to the horizontal lines drawn on the back of each plate.
At a frequency of 1 Hz, SFs predominantly oriented perpendicular to stretch, while at 0.1 Hz the extent of SF alignment was markedly reduced and at 0.01 Hz there was no alignment at all.
This effect was shown to reflect a great extent of the orientation of PANI chains perpendicular to the electrode surface.
One interesting effect was found when subjects were presented with only visual information about the extent of their movement with no information about the errors perpendicular to the movement direction [19].
In contrast, the perpendicular growth of neurites was dependent on myosin II to a certain extent.
This alternative, original landmark is formed by two lateral concavities, or depressions of the prothorax, and an imaginary line that can be drawn perpendicular to the body axis at the level of the posterior-most extent of these depressions (Fig. 5), whereas the landmark used initially in this study was formed by the posterior border of the horn-bearing segment, the prothorax.
These results confirm the relevance for the separation performance of the extent to which the MOF filler occupies the membrane cross-section perpendicular to the gas flux and the importance of crystal engineering in the development of efficient composites for gas separation.
