For demonstration purposes, we included the comparisons for RF with and without sampling for three disease categories, breast cancer, other circulatory diseases and peripheral atherosclerosis (ROC curve in Figure 8, Figure 9, and Figure 10).
One point can be added to the PI-RADS score because it is a focal enhancing lesion, ending up with a final PI-RADS score of 4. Figure 5(c) shows a focal, asymmetric enhancing lesion in the right peripheral zone with curve type 3 and can therefore be scored as PI-RADS 5.
As our protocol uses an extraction method for PrP prior to qRT-QuIC that removes potentially interfering factors present in peripheral tissues, the calibration curve obtained for brain-derived PrP should also provide meaningful results for other tissues from the same species.
