Thus, under the assumption of the validity of hypothesis H1, the available investment volume and the perception of a saturation in terms of the non-financial utility are assumed to influence the optimal SR level negatively, while the willingness to double the sustainable invested amount has a positive impact.
The main analysis compared the effects of exogenous attention on the perception of chromatic saturation and contrast sensitivity.
In the present study, we used PSE data for all three cue conditions (test, neutral and standard) to measure the impact of exogenous covert attention in the perception of color saturation and contrast sensitivity.
Post hoc pairwise comparisons revealed no significant differences between each cue type (test = neutral = standard) indicating that exogenous covert attention did not have any significant impact on the perception of red saturation, as is evident in Figure 2.
Specifically, we found that adults with ADHD made more errors than controls in discriminating higher blue and red saturation while not in contrast sensitivity, but that they did not differ from normal controls in terms of the beneficial effects of exogenous attention on the perception of the saturation of blue or on contrast sensitivity.
In contrast to a large body of research describing positive effects of higher saturated colors, our results show that these findings cannot be generalized to website perception, as we found negative effects of saturation depending on the content domain.
