The median percentage screened among the states was 18.2% (CI, 11.7 24.7%).
In poor inner-city areas, where public assistance programs are successful at screening high-risk children, increasing the percentage screened to include those less at risk would decrease the percentage of children screened with elevated BLLs.
A smaller percentage of combat-related visually impaired ex-service personnel screened positive for probable depression or probable PTSD, but a higher percentage screened positive for probable anxiety disorder or fulfilled the criteria for hazardous or harmful drinking than those with a non-combat-related visual impairment.
The numbers of detected breast cancers and percentages screen detected, and clinically detected cancers are close to the observed numbers and percentages in both the groups (Table 1).

The percentage of screen positive and screen negative children from the first stage of the BCS was 64.6% and 35.4%, respectively, in the CI-group, and 63.5% and 36.5% in the NCI-group.
