In terms of the perceived attributes of fruit, beliefs about the healthiness of fruit are not likely to be contributing to socioeconomic differences in consuming fruit (with all groups perceiving fruit as very healthy), and as such stressing the health benefits of fruit is unlikely to be effective at increasing fruit consumption in lower SES groups.
