Our reconstruction of a bee-pollination syndrome as ancestral for the Australian egg-and-bacon peas is consistent with it being the ancestral syndrome for the entire subfamily.
For most PsLGs, only one or two corresponding chromosomes were identified for chickpea and M. truncatula, but complex relationships were observed with L. japonicus, pigeon pea and soybean, consistent with the pair-wise comparisons.
As they did with last year's hit "I Gotta Feeling," they lodge a quasi-inspirational melody at the heart of a club song in "The Time (Dirty Bit)." Consistent with this, in pea cotyledons infected with Pea seed borne mosaic virus (PSbMV), suppression of diverse host genes including seed storage proteins (e.g., vicilin and convicilin), and starch synthase occurs only in a zone of six to eight cells immediately behind the infection front, which coincided with the onset of viral replication [ 73].
These data are consistent with the pea PA monomer profile composed of comparable amounts of trans- and cis-3-flavan 3-ols.
Biochemically competent recombinant PsANR and PsLAR activities were consistent with the pea seed coat PA profile composed of both cis- and trans-flavan 3-ols.
