Peak outcome-elicited signal change in the NAcc VOI masks (Figure 8, parts A and B) indicated a main effect of trial outcome (F 1,45) = 22.823, P<.0001), with greater BOLD signal following notification of target hits (rewards or avoided losses) than following misses (missed rewards or losses) overall.
At its peak, Executive Outcomes employed about 1,500 South African mercenaries, some of whom are alleged to be in Nigeria today.
We examined both raw signals and the envelope signals, which are maximum peak velocity outcomes.
Figure 7 presents SMD in peak HRQoL outcomes after testosterone therapy between the treatment and control groups for RCTs (see online supplementary appendix page 14).
Testosterone therapies consistently failed to show significant improvements in standardised peak VO2 outcomes compared with control conditions (pooled SMD was 0.21 (−0.15 to 0.56); I=4.8%, p=0.379).
While our current research provides a framework for such an analysis, future research will require developing and/or applying methodology suited to detect co-localization of data that has an X,Y,Z coordinate paired with a continuous outcome (peak height).
Main Outcome Measures: Peak load, peak work load, peak oxygen uptake, peak heart rate (HR), muscle function in knee extensors and flexors, and pain dimension of the NHP.
Secondary outcomes collected on four occasions (baseline, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months) included physiological outcomes (VO2 peak, strength), disability-related outcomes (pain, fatigue, participation), and psychosocial outcomes (exercise self-efficacy, exercise barriers, quality of life, depression, mood).
