The presence of hypodiploid peak in subG1 region is prime indication of apoptosis (Weir et al. 2007).
As a consequence, the administration of CpG-ODN reduced the amplitude of Ca2+ transient (F/F0), Ca2+ decay (mostly dependent on ER/SR Ca2+ re-uptake) and time to peak (an indication of speed of ER/SR Ca2+ release) in the Ca2+ transient (Fig 3F and G).
Notably, the sub-G1 peak, an indication of apoptosis, is not evident in Figure 2. We assessed the effects of CdCl2 on changes in gene expression at 4, 8, 16, and 32 hr after exposure to Cd by global transcriptional profiling using a whole genome array with 54,675 probe sets.
Finally, a quality check of the sequences was performed as suggested by Song et al. [23]: sequence chromatograms were investigated for the presence of double peaks without indication of additional products on agarose gel, translated sequences were checked for the presence of frame-shift mutations or stop codons and nucleotide and amino acid composition was calculated in Mega v 4.0.
Interestingly, sedimentation developed into broad peaks, an indication that the in vitro iron loading conditions used produced an heterogeneous mineralization of the ferritin protein cages, as observed in vivo [ 30].
We evaluated the results of predictions from classification algorithms by determining if conserved ERα binding motif can be found in the classified peaks, as an indication that a peak is the result of ERα/SRC-1 DNA binding.
Dr. Kari Stefansson, the chief executive of Decode Genetics, a gene-hunting company in Iceland, said that in Icelanders with psoriasis, he had found a "small linkage peak" -- an indication of a DNA segment inherited in common by all patients -- in the same place identified by Dr. Bowcock's team.
Sorption of DOM onto HMO does not shift the asymmetric COO− peak (providing no indication of carboxylate-metal bond formation), shifts the symmetric COO− peak from 1404 to 1414 cm−1, shifts the predominant C O stretch of polysaccharides from 1043 to 1051 cm−1, and decreases the symmetric COO− peak/C O stretch of polysaccharides ratio from 1.27 to 0.95 (Fig. 4).
This peak is an indication of SC crystals formed at the interfaces between the PLLA particles and the PLAmed matrix.
