"peak in" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It can be used when describing something or someone at their highest point or level. Example: "The floodwaters are expected to peak in the next few hours before gradually receding." This sentence is describing the floodwaters reaching their highest level before decreasing. Another example: "Her singing career reached its peak in the 1990s, with several number one hits on the charts."
