Both the spectra of PyOM exposed to NH4+ as well as those of unexposed PyOM are strongly dominated by 1s → σ* features with peak centers between 405.00 and 406.58 eV, which dwarf the 1s → π* region area in these spectra.
Sequences within 200 bp of peak centers were compared to known motifs in the HOMER database using the findMotifsGenome.pl command with the following fragment size and motif length parameters, respectively: -size 200 -len 8. Random GC content-matched genomic regions were used as background (default).
