KATHMANDU, Nepal — Three Mount Everest climbers died and a fourth was missing as high winds eased and opened fleeting windows of good weather for teams to push toward the top of the world's tallest peak, authorities said Sunday.
Desplinter, 33, and Wallace, 31, were last seen at 10 a.m. on Saturday before they were believed to be headed toward Cucamonga Peak, authorities said.
Considering the intensity of the storm and the number of weekend hikers on the peak, authorities said it was fortunate that there was only one fatality.
Its dozen members were nominated by peak medical authorities, including the Australian Medical Association, the Mental Health Council of Australia and the professional colleges for nursing, general practitioners and psychiatry.
