Using DNA microarray technology we have examined the transcriptome response of primary rat hepatocytes to two nuclear receptor ligands: Pregnenalone-16α-carbonitrile (PCN), a xenobiotic PXR agonist, and lithocholic acid, an endogenous mixed PXR/VDR/FXR agonist.
In general, these eigengenes are involved in ADME processes, either being metabolic enzymes or transport proteins, and the majority of these have their zexpression increased by both LCA and PCN; a selection of these eigengenes were analysed by Q-PCR, and the results are presented in Figure 4, demonstrating that these eigengenes are altered by both PCN and LCA exposures.
In mice, PCN, a potent activator of rodent PXR, inhibited carbon tetrachloride induced fibrosis in a PXR-dependent manner.
Pregnenolone-16α-carbonitrile (PCN)), a pregnane X receptor (PXR) agonist, has also been shown to reduce brain Aβ-levels (103), and PBA to reduce AD-linked Tau protein and ameliorate cognitive deficit in a mouse model of AD (104).
Intervention participants were recruited from two EDs and participating Family Medicine clinics affiliated with two Primary Care Networks (PCN, a group of physicians and multidisciplinary team members with the goal of improving comprehensive primary care access and care coordination).

Although the multiple roles of PYO in virulence are being recognized, it should be noted that in addition to PYO, P. aeruginosa produces several other phenazine derivatives including 1-hydroxyphenazine, PCA, PCN, aeruginosin A, and aeruginosin B (see Mavrodi et al. 2006) for which the impacts on virulence are less well understood.
In a dense PCN, an increased number of links exists among physicians.
The ability of C. rosea to tolerate the main metabolite from PCL1391, PCN (Chin-A-Woeng et al. 1998), was evaluated.
A PCN with a flat network structure (i.e. members of that PCN have almost equal network participation) will have high hospitalisation cost and readmission rate.
From the perspective of a PCN structure, a high betweenness centralisation indicates that the structure of the corresponding PCN follows a star-like or centralised structure since betweenness centralisation reaches its highest value of 1 for a star network.
The NP-PCN is applied as an ORR catalyst and exhibits excellent performance with a positive half-wave potential of 0.82 V vs. RHE, a low Tafel slope of 59 mV dec−1, high tolerance to methanol, and high durability in alkaline media, making NP-PCN a promising alternative to costly platinum for the ORR.
