We have deposited mesoscopic patterns of viable B35 neuroblasts using a soft direct approach of the matrix assisted pulsed laser evaporation direct write (MAPLE DW) process.
Based on the patterns of viable cells it was observed that the effect of PEF was not homogeneous across the tuber.
As a consequence, the spatio-temporal pattern of a viable replicator community always lacks conspicuous mesoscopic structures like spiral waves [ 21]; the visual impression of a persistent, dense metabolic system is a homogeneous mix of all the different metabolic replicator types.
TS1 exhibited a distinct cytoplasmic pattern of staining in viable tumour cells, but also demonstrated binding to necrotic regions and pyknotic/apoptotic tumour cells (Figure 1).
This pattern, which reflects hypervascularity of viable tumour tissue and diminished or absent perfusion of necrotic components, is also typical of primary renal cell carcinomas [29].
This is of particular importance for metastases from renal cell carcinomas that demonstrate intense early enhancement both at CT and MRI, a pattern that reflects hypervascularity of viable tumour tissue and is the main differential diagnostic feature from the hypovascular pancreatic adenocarcinoma (Fig. 9) [8, 9, 14].
The CFU counts were directly proportional to the BLI, confirming that the observed luminescent pattern corresponded to the level of viable and replication-competent bacteria in the tissues.
Dispersal rather than concentration is being talked about as the viable pattern of life and work, where monumental buildings will give way to camouflaged sheds, or entirely scattered to home offices.
The use of a combination of Cyto 82 as viable cell stain (green) and PI for identification of damaged or dying cells (red), again demonstrated a very similar pattern of lysing cells and viable cells in vegetative hyphae of M145 and FM145, again illustrating the wild-type growth behaviour of FM145 (Figure 2i j).
Here, we pursued the hypothesis that the deployment of uniformly expressed activators in patterning systems also has an evolutionary explanation: That they improve the "evolvability" of target patterns, by increasing the number of viable paths evolution can take from a random initial sequence to a functional CRM.
