The phrase "pattern of motion" is correct and commonly used in written English.
It refers to the specific way in which something moves or flows. It is often used in scientific or technical writing, but can also be used in everyday language. Example: The scientist observed the pattern of motion of the planets around the sun and discovered that they followed a elliptical orbit.
