This pattern of low δ34SSO4 at high temperature suggests that seawater entrained by convective circulation oxidized H2S issued from the vents.
A similar dominance pattern was also found at high temperature vents of the EPR, where S. hispidulus was the most successful species in alvinellids Alvinella pompejana and A. caudata habitats [25].
The first PR is patterned and additionally cured at high temperature for hardening (150 °C, step (4)) because the second PR is patterned on top of the first PR to form the capacitor section.
In contrast, at high temperature (20°C), the pattern was inverted, with southern isolates showing up to 10-fold higher infection success than the northern isolates (Fig. 1).
The dioxin exposure of our three cases may have been influenced by the fact that they were exposed by means of volatilization of the dioxins at high temperature, and the congener pattern may have been altered by the high temperature.

Fish with TSD have readily been grouped according to three patterns of sex ratio response to environmental temperature [12] [16]: 1, more males at high temperature; 2, more males at low temperature; and 3 more males at extreme (high and low) temperatures (Fig. 1).
The pattern of transitions shown in Figure 1 at high temperatures for the BFO end of the solid solution seems to be well established, but the evolution of structure types with increasing Ca content at room temperature is less clear.

This is consistent with the superiority of southern isolates at high temperature in the laboratory experiments, and together with the higher performance of northern isolates at lower temperatures, these results suggest a pattern of temperature-dependent local adaptation.
