This paper describes the study protocol of the evaluation of the RSE programme at patient level (figure 1, white boxes).
The enhanced PrRC was associated with significant improvement in glycemic control at the clinic level (figure 3 bottom panel) as well as at the patient level (figure 4).
The trial is a highly pragmatic, three arm, cluster randomised controlled trial with the practice as the unit of randomisation, and outcomes measured at the individual patient level (figure 1).
Note that the AIC in the Japanese cohort is not comparable to that in the UK. Figure 5 demonstrates patient-level survival estimation and reports predictions of 2-year survival for increasing levels of albumin and bilirubin; all other parameters are fixed (AFP 34, AFP-L3 16.1, and DCP 1.14).
Figure 1 summarizes the patient-level processes in the model.
Patient-level changes from baseline for RBV and mTT are presented in Figure 4.

In contrast, no obvious change was found for the proportion of patients with low folate levels (figure 3D and table 6, four studies, 535 patients), nor for mean folate levels, before and after surgery (see online supplementary table 2D, five studies, 1840 patients).
Clustering patients according to altered COMP levels over 3 months, three groups were identified: Group UnCh, of 142 (41%) patients with no change in serum-COMP, Figure 1B; group DeCr of 173 (49%) patients with decreasing serum-COMP-levels, Figure 1C; group InCr, of 34 (10%) patients with increasing serum-COMP levels Figure 1D.
Nevertheless, several nucleotide mutations were found in the core region of these patients as compared to a consensus sequence issued from genotype 1a HCV or the Cambodian HCV1a patients with normal core antibody levels (Figure 5).
