"pathological picture" is a correct and usable phrase in written English.
It typically refers to a description or depiction of a disease or abnormal condition in the body. Example: The doctor studied the patient's medical records and examined the pathological picture of his lungs, ultimately diagnosing him with pneumonia.
Some monkeys developed pneumonia and examination of their lungs under a microscope has shown a similar type of pathological picture that affected humans have shown.
The overall pathological picture resembles that of Kashin-Beck (or Urovskaya) disease, the etiology of which is associated with mineral starvation.
