Now, fresh details of the lucrative business that entwined Europe, America and Africa are being shown in "Captive Passage," an exhibition that opened this week at the Anacostia Museum and Center for African American History and Culture in Washington.

Children will explore what it is like to visit Africa and make new friends through stories and photography, tomorrow at 4 p.m. with the educator Nichole Bridges, next to the exhibition "Passages: Photographs in Africa by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher" on the fifth floor of the Brooklyn Museum of Art, 200 Eastern Parkway, at Prospect Park.

Last summer the museum mounted a temporary exhibition titled "Passages," in which African art was displayed against mural-size color images of Africa by the photographers Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher.
His most remarkable contribution to the exhibition is "Transition," the passage between the Upper Pine Gallery and what is named the Common Ground Gallery.

At the Chicago Cultural Center, "Passages: Contemporary Art in Transition," an exhibition of painting, sculpture, photography and other works by the painter and multimedia artist Kerry James Marshall, the sculptor Alison Saar and 15 other African-American artists, will be on view through April 9.
The work later was exhibited at the Tate Modern in London, for the exhibition "Rites of Passage".
