The ICUs participating NICE-SUGAR loosened their glucose control practice after the publication of the study results to greater degree than the ICUs not participating in the trial.
Moderate hypoglycaemia rate decreased in ICUs not participating into NICE-SUGAR but not in ICUs conducting the study (Table 3).
Of 132 ICUs providing data to the APD, 49 fulfilled the selection criteria and of them, 9 (18%) participated in NICE-SUGAR.
