The phrase "partial distribution" is correct and usable in written English.
It can be used in contexts such as statistics, probability, or economics when referring to a distribution that is not complete or is only a part of a larger distribution.
Example: "The analysis focused on the partial distribution of income among different socioeconomic groups."
Alternatives: "incomplete distribution" or "limited distribution."
I don't know how a partial distribution is calculated when figuring return on investment.
