We used both TA and the PS rubric to identify scientific and alternative conceptions in this part of the interview transcripts to compare the results with each student's written homework response.
Codes for the six strategies identified by the Cochrane review, that is, 'communication', 'incentives', 'questionnaires', ' methodology'casease management' and 'behavioural' were used as a priori codes for the later part of the interview transcripts as the participants were asked specifically about the use of Cochrane review strategies.
