For radical abolitionists like Garrison, the most important part of the Declaration was its assertion of the right of revolution: Garrison called for the destruction of the government under the Constitution, and the creation of a new state dedicated to the principles of the Declaration.
"The core of the declaration is political.
Although it must be noted that much of what Iraq has provided in the weapons part of its declaration is not new, there are some sections of new material.
The Declaration was part of a wider political project, undertaken by Barlow, John Gilmore, and Mitch Kapor, who founded the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a civil liberties organisation which turns 25 this year (I've worked for them, off and on, for 14 years now).

The declaration was filed as part of the agency's legal battle with opponents who are seeking an injunction to halt work on the Merced-Fresno section.
"A main part of the Chitose Declaration was that there needs to be more awareness in communities so that people know what could be done to address these matters," she noted.
A key part of the declaration would be aimed at making it easier for U.S. scientists to obtain licenses for their work from the U.S. government, which must approve cooperation with Cuba, and to make it easier for people and scientific equipment to move between the two nations.
The declarations were part of a campaign by New York Communities for Change to force the bank to modify more mortgages.
