"pain generator" is a grammatically correct and usable phrase in written English.
It is typically used to describe something or someone that causes or contributes to physical or emotional pain. For example: - The accident left her with a permanent injury, turning her once-beloved sport into a pain generator. - She finally realized that her toxic relationship was nothing but a pain generator and decided to end it. - The new workout equipment is designed to target specific muscle groups and act as a more efficient pain generator for professional athletes.
Besides the complexity of the pain experience, a good biological marker or tool enabling identification of a pain generator is lacking.
