Measured heat transfer coefficients are compared with theoretical approaches by Mickley and Fairbanks packet model and Thring correlation.
The packet model of Mickley and Fairbanks (1955) is used to predict convective heat transfer through the emulsion layer, while conductive heat transfer through the gas layer is estimated based on its thickness.
This paper presents a theoretical model for predicting the radiative heat transfer rate between high-temperature fluidized bed and immersed walls, which can be used upon the base of emulsion packet model of heat transfer in bubbling fluidized bed.
The results showed that the bed-to-wall heat transfer coefficients for a small heat transfer surface used in this work were well estimated using the packet model of Mickley and Fairbanks (1955) with several assumptions.
The results fitted closely the predictions of a modified version of the "Mickley" packet model with the inclusion of an additional resistance to heat transfer at the transfer surface.
For bubbling beds, the packet model approach gives reasonable predictions for the convective component of transfer, but further work is required to provide reliable estimates of two required time constants, dependent on the hydrodynamics.

In addition, the new framework includes a topography model to check the velocity and movements of the nodes, packet models roaming in MANET, and visualisation area to observe simulation events.
Three simplified wave-packet models of the coherent structures in subsonic jets are presented.
In this section, we assume that each TCP connection has to send a number of packets modelled by an independent geometric random variable with mean w −1.
Besides, since most of the user data in wireless network are IP packets, modeling the IP layer performance directly contributes to the design of novel network architecture.
Results show only very slight changes in the mean flow induced by the plate, and no differences in the velocity fluctuation amplitudes on the jet centreline, suggesting that wave-packet models derived for jets without installation effects may be representative of the installed case, at least for the jet plate distances considered here.
