This is my fourth trip to Bamiyan, as I oversee the programs for a nonprofit, Arzu, that helps women and their families with education, health care and employment.
The New York Fed is overseeing the program for the Federal Reserve.
"We desperately need a reauthorization," said Dr. Claude Earl Fox, who oversees the program for the department.
"Every year we're looking to incorporate younger people," said Bill Brown, who oversaw the program for the city's Veterans Services Departmentt from 1990 until his retirement last week.
"As long as it is witnessed by an authenticator, there's no limit to what can be authenticated," Michael Posner, who oversees the program for M.L.B., said.
Last fall, 5,215 new city teachers -- about 72percentt of those eligible -- received mentoring, according to Kathleen Ruta, who oversees the program for the Board of Education.
"For instance," said Tony Setteducatto, the museum educator who has overseen the program for the last four years, "for 'Hip Hats"' -- a Feb. 12 installation in conjunction with an exhibition on the fashion designer Arnold Scaasi -- "they will make hats out of colorful construction paper and decorate them with whatever crafty things we have on hand".
"In a system full of job guarantees, people were scared," says Holly Miller, who oversees the program for Sloan.
"And right now, our educational system cannot accomplish this". Maybe so, said Zhang Minxuan, an education expert who oversaw the Program for International Student Assessment testing in Shanghai.
