After mergers and reorganizations, their output share did not drop, but actually increased.
In contrast, provinces in the fourth category had a significant increase in output share of privately run coal mines after the campaign was carried out.
For example, a firm with a 40percentt output share in an industry with a three-firm concentration index of 0.5 employs on average 5.7percentt (0.078×0.5 - 0.131×0.4 - 0.216×0.5×0.4 = -0.057) fewer immigrants than a (hypothetical) firm in a perfectly competitive industry (i.e., infinitely small output share in an industry where the concentration index is zero).
Figure 2 depicts the distribution of output share of each sector relative to the countries total manufacturing production; on average each sector studied here represents a small share of the country's total manufacturing production, mostly concentrated below 10%%.
Table 1 lists the change before and after the mergers and reorganizations campaign, in each province, of the output share of privately run coal mines as a proportion of the total coal output of that province, between 2008 and 2013.
Except for the four provinces for which no data is available, the rest can be classified into four categories according to the fluctuation rates of their output share after being merged or reorganized.
Agriculture and textile account for the highest share in production, at 22 and 21%, respectively, followed by construction (CON) and food beverage tobacco (FBT) in the industrial sectors, while wholesales retail trade and transportation (WTT) has the highest output share (15%) among service sectors, followed by finance business (FBUS) and hotel restaurant (HR).
There is also a twin-T topology which has practical applications where it is desirable to have the input and output share a common (ground) terminal.
The mutual information of two random variables in general, measures the information that × (input) and Y (output) share: it measures how much knowing one of these variables reduces the entropy of the other.
