To address this question we examined hSPC105 RNAi-treated cells for kinetochore binding of a set of outer kinetochore components including EB1, dynein-dynactin (p150Glued), and CLIP-170 [45], [45] and of inner kinetochore components using CREST (because CREST staining did not vary across depletion conditions, it also served as control for the efficiency of fixation in different samples).
