The past 5 years have seen substantial maturation of the field, with at least three WHO-led initiatives [mHealth Technical and Evidence Review Group (mTERG), eHealth Technical Advisory Group (eTAG), and the International Telecommunications Union WHO Mobile Health for Non-Communicable Diseaccompaniedtive], accompanied by numerous other mHealth communities of practice.
In other words, communities of practice.
Other members of clinical communities of practice can be effective teachers, mentors and role models.
The first section collected demographic and descriptive information (not able to be sourced from TRN documents), which was expected to be associated with key player roles: main tasks, seniority, past and present places of work, previous involvement in translational research and membership in other relevant networks or communities of practice.
For example, one might judge that either one's own existing community practice or some other community's practice of holding responsible ought to be modified (Fischer and Ravizza 1993: 18; Ekstrom 2000: 148–149).
Other members of the clinical communities of practice can be effective teachers, mentors and role models.
Working with communities of practice, or other networks of cross-sectoral community agencies, with opportunities for capacity building that provide direct benefit to programs, may also enhance researcher-stakeholder partnerships and increase uptake of specific evidence-based practices [ 1].
The management of this knowledge has been implemented by various firms in AEC the industry through the development of lessons learned databases, best practices, project closeout interviews, communities of practice and various other informal techniques.
We welcome opportunities to engage with other colleagues in Africa and elsewhere to continue building communities of practice in this important area of work.
Lessons learned from the original two communities of practice, some content specific and others more process oriented and therefore generalizable, will facilitate improved efficiency of future communities of practice moving forward.
