For example, a study of first records of plant pathogens in the UK (1970 2004) showed that the Netherlands was the origin of introductions (when known) nearly half of the time, and the South-East of England was the region of first report (when known) for 38%% of newly recorded pathogens (Jones and Baker 2007).
