Expression of TREM-1 was compared with patients with systemic inflammatory response syndrome of non-infectious origin and no data were available for patients at the stages of sepsis and of severe sepsis [ 21].
Recently, we applied it to a set of cancer samples of various origins, for which expression data were available for both genes and a limited set of miRNAs.
