The following points are critical for determining the origin of amphibole grains in pyrope from Garnet Ridge: (1) preferred orientation of amphibole grains controlled by crystal orientations of the host garnet; (2) depletion haloes of Na, Ca and Ti in the host garnet surrounding amphibole grains; and (3) low OH contents in amphibole-bearing garnet host.
The orientations of their host grains were also measured, so that the Schmid factors (SFs) applicable to each of the six contraction twins that could potentially form in each grain could also be calculated.
In the measurements, since it is known from crystallography that the orientations of the host c-axis and pole to the e-twin make a fixed angle of 26.25°, the measured angles less than 21° and greater than 31° were rejected after considering an error of 5° for the measurements with a U-stage.
Importantly, a vital ethnic community acting as a distinctive and collective entity may make children develop a positive attitude towards their group and less vulnerable to the orientations of the host society like segregation (Bourhis et al. 1997; Phinney et al. 2001).
The valencies of oxygen, the scale and geometrical orientation of the host lattice and the electronegativity of the host elements determine these specific differences extrinsically.
However, miRNA that share the same strand orientation of their host genes have similar transcription mechanisms [ 1, 61].
