When reporting on outcomes by disease (Additional file 2), we re-organized the data for 32 articles that incorporated 'multiple eligible diseases' i.e., each eligible disease reported in these articles was placed into its respective single-disease category so that each of these 32 articles simultaneously contributed to multiple disease categories.
NVivo was used to assist with organizing the data for analysis.
