Comparisons of means involving miRNA organization (clustered vs. non-clustered miRNAs) and miRNA location (intergenic vs. intronic miRNAs) were performed by a two tailed t-test.
The genomic context of these miRNAs was also investigated in terms of organization (clustered and non-clustered) and their location as intergenic, intronic, exonic, or mirtron as shown in Figure 2.
