The lowest values are –52.3, –48.4 and –46.0‰ for the pyrolysis of exclusive kerogen, kerogen plus water and kerogen plus water and U-ore (Table 2; Fig. 3a).
Unlike RBRBM deposits, three very different sets of log –pH conditions have been proposed for MVT ore fluids (Table 1; Fig. 1): (1) reduced and acidic (Sverjensky[41]), (2) reduced and alkaline (Giordano and Barnes[39]), and (3) oxidized/slightly acidic (Anderson[37, 38, 77]), similar to RBRBM ore fluids and many sulfide-poor petroleum-field brines.
Manganese concentrations in processed ores, background soils, village soils, and sweep samples (up to 1,320 ppm) commonly exceeded the U.S. EPA RSSL of 390 ppm (U.S. EPA 2011a), and were generally higher than concentrations measured in soils from villages without ore processing [ Table 1; see also Supplemental Material, Figure S3B (http://dx.doi.org/10.1289/ehp.1206051)].
For instance, in order to build a pickaxe to mine more efficiently, the player must first punch down trees to harvest wood, mine for ore, build a craft table, and build the tool themselves.
Overall, 71% (84 of 118) of compounds reported processing gold ore within their compound (Table 2).
Total Pb and Zn concentrations and Pb and Zn speciation were calculated as a function of log and pH for the composite ore-brine described in Table 1.
Dareta and Yargalma sweep and soil samples contained broken particles of the same complex suite of primary and secondary lead minerals as unprocessed and ground vein ores [see Supplemental Material, Table S2 (http://dx.doi.org/10.1289/ehp.1206051)].
