The trouble with this approach is that once we have admitted that there are some absolute moral facts, it is hard to see why we shouldn't think that there are many — as many as common sense and ordinary reasoning appear to warrant.
In other words, sometimes formulas in a formal language are used in ordinary reasoning.
In the long run, the formal modeling this inspires may reestablish stronger links between formal and informal logic (links that will depend on logics which are more sensitive to the different facets of ordinary reasoning than classical logic).
There is, however, an important and broadly applicable point worth making about ordinary reasoning by reference to cases that emerges most clearly from the philosophical use of such reasoning.
Those who reject deductivism argue that it is an artificial theory which forces informal arguments to adhere to an overly restrictive model of argument that is too narrow to account for the richness of ordinary reasoning (Johnson 2000 and Godden 2004).
This is not to say that our capacity for reasoning plays no role in these theories; after all, these are intended to explain how self-knowledge is achieved by thinkers like us, who can engage in ordinary reasoning (such as making inferences and recognizing plain conceptual truths).

However, such deductive approaches must differ from ordinary deductive reasoning in one important respect.
First, it directly contravened the way in which humans experienced their relation to the Sun, and in doing so it made ordinary nonscientific reasoning about the world seem unreliable indeed, like a kind of superstition.
