In addition, some isolates coproduced plasmid-mediated AmpC β-lactamase, ACT/MIR (n = 1) or CMY-2 (n = 2).
However, few reports have been published about strains in animals producing ESBLs or CMY-type cephamycinases, which confer resistance to expanded-spectrum cephalosporins (22, 23 ), and no CTX-M-type β-lactamase producer has been isolated from animals.
The resistance plasmids carried genes encoding β-lactamases of Ambler class A (SHV-12), B (VIM-1 or VIM-4), and C (CMY-2, CMY-4, or CMY-13) (Table), which represent key emerging resistance determinants to ESC and carbapenems.
