For the comparison between observation and the model, both the URSI and CCIR options of the IRI-2007 model are used to predict the NmF2 values, which can be downloaded from the site: http://ccmc.gsfc.nasa.gov/modelweb/models/ iri_vitmo.php.
FINDMODEL provides options of selecting the model set and tree methods for constructing the initial tree.
Therefore, in this work, the topside EDPs are derived using the NeQuick topside formulation of the NeQuick 2 model (namely, NeQuick-derived topside EDPs) and then compared with those of three options of the IRI-2012 model including NeQuick, IRI01-corr, and IRI2001 options.
Furthermore, our results differ from the studies of Lee and Reinisch (2006) and Lee et al. (2008) at the equatorial latitude station in Peru, namely Jicamarca, in that both the URSI and CCIR options of the IRI-2007 model are generally close to the observed values, but our results show that both models underestimate observed values during the midnight and pre-sunrise hours, especially in 2005.
The NeQuick and IRI01-corr options of the IRI model predict reasonably well the observed diurnal and seasonal variation patterns of VTEC values.
Our study shows that: (1) In general, both the URSI and CCIR options of the IRI model give foF2 close to the measured ones, but the CCIR option produces a smaller range of deviation than the URSI option.
Although both the URSI and CCIR options of the IRI model predict NmF2 close to the NmF2obs especially during daytime, the CCIR option produces a smaller range of deviation than the URSI option.
The left panels are the observed NmF2 labeled as NmF2obs compared with the predicted NmF2 values from the URSI and CCIR options of the IRI-2007 modelabeledled as NmF2URIS and NmF2CCIR, respectively, and the right panels show the NmF2 percentage deviation (%PD) of both options in each of the four seasons from September 2004 to August 2005.
When analyzing the topside TEC values obtained from each profile and the IGS TEC, it is found that the topside TEC values integrated from NeQuick-derived topside EDPs and predicted by both IRI01-corr and IRI-2001 ofthens of the IRI-2012 model are sometimes higher than the IGS TEC values observed at Chumphon.
From the simulated stock paths of the BS and FMLS models it can be easily depicted that the European call options of both the models converge as (gammato2).
