Through modelling and the development of signal processing algorithms we are able to design the DROID for optimum spectral and spatial resolution depending upon application.
Furthermore, it was found that combining the strategy of high spatial resolution with an optimum task duration and post-processing methods for separating true and false positives greatly improved the specificity of single-subject, block-design fMRI studies of structured, overt vowel production.
An optimum computed tomography (CT) technique requires high spatial resolution, optimal gastric distension, and proper timing of contrast media injection to detect subtle changes in the gastric wall and to accurately stage tumours.
Confocal Raman scattering is a technique which is so highly sensitive to submicron spatial resolution that it can, under optimum conditions, take measurements with a resolution corresponding to half the wavelength of the exciting light λ/2.
