Technological advances in image acquisition, optimized imaging sequences and automated post-processing of multispectral MR data are major drivers of the rapid developments in this field.
The next generation of polarime-ters, such as adaptive optics optimized imaging polarimeter in the NIR (1 5 µm) MMT-POL (Packham et al., 2010) at the 6.5-m MMT, the MIR polarimeter (7.5 13 µm) Ca-nariCam (Packham et al., 2005b) at the 10.4-m GTC will provide a high spatial resolution and polarisation sensibility that will allow us to refine and/or modify these studies.
In conclusion, this study shows that with optimized imaging parameters, 3D mouse body images acquired with bSSFP allow for the simultaneous visualization of the prostate and its draining lymph nodes, the iliac and renal lymph nodes, as well as the nearby inguinal and popliteal lymph nodes.
In recent work, this shortcoming was highlighted in small animal imaging [8], where even under optimized imaging conditions in a 7T scanner, it was not possible to clearly image the intercostal and spinal vasculature in a rat with conventional low molecular-weight Gd-chelates.

After landing with tip on the sample surface, a damping ratio (Asp/A0) of 0.5 to 0.6 and a line frequency of 0.25 to 0.6 Hz were optimized for imaging.
Luminescence-imaging systems commercially available for biomedical research are usually optimized for imaging horizontally held specimens or samples in microtiter plates.
In one study, X. Li and colleagues compared FAIR and PICORE sequences and systematically optimized ASL imaging parameters for measuring cerebellum grey matter and white matter perfusion.
The HSS we have developed is optimized for imaging printed DNA microarrays and excites a sample with a single laser, typically at 532 nm, while recording the emission over a wavelength range from 550 900 nm in approximately 0.75 nm increments to create a hyperspectral data cube (Fig. 1a).
