34 Sn, Sp, PPV, NPV and their 95% CIs for the CIHI and optimised coding algorithm were calculated.
The optimised coding algorithm for sepsis had Sn increase significantly by 25.5 71.9% and NPV increase to 66.6%, while Sp and PPV decreased to 85.4% and 88.2%, respectively.
For the severe sepsis optimised coding algorithm, the same trend was noted, with Sn increased by approximately 18 65.1%, NPV with an increase to 70.1%, while Sp and PPV decreased to 88.2% and 85.6%, respectively.
