And in case our intuition is correct, time-independence as a desirable prerequisite for meta-analysis on, say, additive scales would immediately follow.
"Environmental vandalism on the grossest scale," said one academic.
"I would say on scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it a 7".
He said: "On the scale of one to 10, this is an 11".
However, he said, on a scale from 1 to 10, the tornado looked to be "on the 8-9 level".

"[Ice] is a significant concern on the national scale, and a significant concern on the territory scale," said Giles.
It now exists on, as Arkin says, an "industrial scale".
