regressing GR t for each locality on Ta, Ts, Tw or Pa, respectively, incorporating one year delayed autoregressing (GR t -1): GR t = α + yGR t -1 + x t β where x t is the mean climate parameter for temperature and precipitation and α, β and γ are regression constants.
To confirm molecular data, the sequences of M. limopsicola (based on an independent DNA extraction from a second sampling of the original culture) and H. antarcticus (based on 10 individuals for each locality – King George Island, Antarctica and Valdivia, Chile – Table 1) were repeated at the same laboratories.
As mentioned above, with the results of PHCI on a disaggregated level, each locality was classified in one of the two groups (high or low coverage).
