METHODS: Data collected from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES-I, 1971 to 1975) were used to determine the prevalence of heart failure on the basis of both self-reporting and a clinical definition.
In addition, blood pressure was measured and diagnoses of hypertension evaluated on the basis of both self-reports and the use of medication.
Records are also kept of attendance at the in-hospital exercise program sessions, and compliance with the home-based training is determined on the basis of both self-report and the data registered by the heart rate monitors.
In study two, high (n = 26) socially anxious participants demonstrated less self-concept clarity than low socially anxious participants (n = 26) on both self-report (used in study one) and on computerised measures of self-consistency and confidence in self-related judgments.
Results: While scores on the BDI-II and ARS-IV were correlated with each other (p<0.01), scores on both self-report measures were largely uncorrelated with neurocognitive test scores (p>0.05).
Thus, the mood inductions were therefore similarly effective for both groups and in both orders of administration, and on both self-report ratings of mood status.
About 19.5percentt (or n = 406) of respondents are classified as diabetic based on both self-report and claims data and 71.1percentt (or n = 1,426) are classified as non-diabetics in both data sources.
As shown in Table 4, based on both self-report and administrative data, those with inactive disease over the 12-month period had significantly fewer visits than those with consistently active disease, by almost half (self-report: F = 8.31, p = 0.0003; administrative data: F = 8.46, p = 0.0003).
