The phrase "on a word" is not a complete sentence and is not grammatically correct.
It can be used as part of a sentence, however, in contexts such as "hovering on a word," "clicking on a word," or "focusing on a word." Example: "The student was struggling to understand the meaning of the passage, so the teacher suggested focusing on one word at a time to break it down."
