However, the sample sizes in the studies identifying rs1042522 and rs2479717 were relatively small, so we evaluated their association with BCSS in the GWAS meta-analysis omitting the samples from studies used in the original publications.
Our results revealed a significant variation of tetraploid tumours when employing the total number of samples collected at the 11 sites as well as when omitting the samples collected at the Forestier peninsula (χ = 11.7, P = 0.008, df = 3 and χ = 9.6, P = 0.02, df = 3, respectively, Fig. 2).
