The first time 19-year-old Zoha Qamar went to Friday prayers during her period, the mosque was packed.
"Our research revealed that young, ocean-going turtles were more likely to eat plastic than their older, coastal-dwelling relatives," lead author Qamar Schuyler says in a press release about the research, which was published this month in the journal Conservation Biology.
Qamar Zaman Chaudry, former director general of Pakistan's Meteorological Department, said this was highly unusual at this time of the year - the first occasion in 26 years.
Qamar Suleman, a Ahmadi activist in Lahore, said a 60-year-old shop keeper was killed last week while being detained in jail on blasphemy charges in the outskirts of Lahore.

But Qamar Zaman Kaira, Pakistan's information minister, expressed criticism.
"It is political kite-flying," Mr. Qamar said.
Her parents, Tasneem and Qamar N. Usmani, live in New Delhi.
"We have no choice but to keep fighting," Qamar said.
